Pavement Evaluation Services
Many
of our clients have come to Mark Smallridge and Associates after a pavement on one of their facilities is experiencing increasing distress or has reached a state of serviceability or structural
failure. They have relied upon us to accurately determine the extent of deterioration and damage, and to develop the strengthening work, surface treatment or repair needed to achieve ongoing
requirements. To maintain the ongoing performance of the pavements, management programs should be
established.
We undertake condition surveys and coordinate nondestructive and minimally invasive testing, material sampling and laboratory testing procedures for residual life determination and failure analysis.
Causing minimal interruption to your ongoing operations is an important factor in planning this work.
Condition surveys include recording the visual condition of the pavement to identify and map the types and extent of distress. This is usually undertaken on a walk over inspection. The
collection and assessment of pavement condition survey data, and comparison with trafficking patterns is essential in determining the most economical treatment. The survey also enables the
most effective location of test positions.
Nondestructive and minimally invasive testing provides thorough coverage of the pavement. Material sampling locations and laboratory test results can then be extrapolated across the pavement area, or
the pavement network.
